Bramslammers is a co-ed slo-pitch softball league with over 300 members and its 2012 season will celebrate 36 years of catering to adult couples and singles 19 years and over in the City of Brampton, Ontario.
It is purely a recreational league in that no standings are kept throughout the season. All levels of ability are welcome. There are 17 season games held every Monday night at 6:30 at various diamonds (see map) throughout Brampton.
Bramslammers is a unique league offering an alternative to the traditional slo- pitch (arc pitch) in that the ball is pitched underhanded, and straight in so that it can be hit. The game is played with 12 players on the field and stealing is allowed.
There is an annual two-day yearend tournament held on the Saturday and Sunday following Labour Day where teams play for bragging rights and the Championship trophy.
The $100.00 registration fee entitles you to play seventeen regular season games, participate in a beginning season "mixer" tournament as well as try and earn the title of champions in a year end tournament. Also included is a ticket to the year end banquet filled with great food, good friends, dancing and celebrating the season's end. This is a dinner and dance where trophies and prizes are presented and each team selects most sportsmanlike male and female.
